About the IDS Light

The Bosch IDS Light 15 SEER System is the first inverter condenser on the market to combine premium inverter technology with standard efficiency. As the first 15-SEER inverter condenser on the market, IDS Light delivers the steady energy use and minimal noise expected of an IDS system at an unbeatable price point. The BOVA15 outdoor unit is available in 24k, 36k and 60k BTU capacity and can be paired with one of three air handlers: the BVA15 fixed-speed air handler, the BWA16 constant torque air handler, or the BCA16 constant torque air handler.

Strong Performance

The IDS Light can achieve up to 16.0 SEER and 9 HSPF. The high-efficiency variable capacity inverter compressor in the Bosch BOVA15 can adjust to any speed between 33 percent and 110 percent (in 1 percent increments), to perfectly cool and heat your home using minimal energy for maximum comfort. The condensing units come standard with an electronic expansion valve (EEV) to ensure proper refrigerant flow during all conditions to optimize the unit’s operation to the highest efficiency possible. The direct-drive fan blades provide vortex suppression to reduce the sound of airflow exiting the condensing section, which results in sound levels as low as 59 dBA.

  • IDS Light Compact Wall: The BWA16 is a versatile wall-mounted air handler paired with an inverter condenser to create a space saving comfort solution. This system combines the BOVA15 outdoor unit with the BWA16 constant torque air handler.
  • IDS Light Compact Ceiling: The BCA16 is a compact ceiling-mounted air handler combined with an inverter condenser to create a powerful combination. This system combines the BOVA15 outdoor unit with our BCA16 constant torque air handler.
